ALFREDO ESPARZA
October 8, 1980. Torreón, Mexico) Master‘s degree in Humanistic Studies with a specialization in History from the UV of ITESM (2008). Graduate of the Contemporary Photography Seminar at the Centro de la Imagen (2012). Has exhibited individually and collectively in Iceland, Colombia, Spain, United States, United Kingdom, Argentina, Guatemala, and Mexico. Currently a member of the National System of Art Creators (2021), Mexico. Winner of the Resilient Art stimulus, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Coahuila (2020), Saltillo, Mexico. Selected in The Biennial in Resistance 2021 in Guatemala, Guatemala. Winner of the VII edition of Latin American Photography by AI-AP (2018) in New York, United States. Selected in the XVIII Biennial of Photography at the Centro de la Imagen (2018). CDMX, Mexico. Honorable mention in the Visible Memory contest in Medellín, Colombia (2018). Finalist and special prize in the Third Contemporary Photography Contest (2017). Monterrey, Mexico. Has done artistic residencies at the Curatorial Program Research in New York, United States, in 2019. At the Fish Factory Creative Centre in Stöðvarfjörður, Iceland, in 2022, 2019, and 2017. In 2011-12, at .357 Creative Studio, in Tlalnepantla, Mexico. Lives and works between Torreón and CDMX.
